Lemon pie, anyone?
There’s a bakeshop that makes a specialty pie in Sagada. I’ve been looking for a bakeshop since I arrive, and that was 3 weeks ago, but didn’t find one. Although I’ve heard there is one at the end of the road after the St. Theodore Hospital. The last time I passed by there, it was a lonely road for a hundred meters away from Sagada Weaving?
Lemon Pie House is – as you’ve guessed it – a specialty bakeshop selling and serving lemon pie. Because of the cold weather, lemon trees grow in Sagada, aside from oranges that the town is also famous for.
LPH also serve brewed Sagada coffee, pastries and lunch/dinner meals on their menu at their small but cozy café. Tables and throw pillows on the wooden parquet flooring, wooden walls and ceilings, nice native straw hanging lamps, pleasant décor on the walls.
I was thinking why don’t they serve lemon juice too, that goes well with the pie? Or would that be overindulgence?Nothing really “very” special about lemon pies (or maybe I’m leaning more to apple or strawberry or blueberry or egg pie) but it’s different. It’s not every day that you’ll find real lemon pies, and not just lemon-essence flavored pies like they usually make in most bakeries in Manila. Eat some, take home some - for your friends in the big city.
Staff are friendly and the place is neat and snug, so if you're in town, drop by. It’s located along the road where all the popular restaurants and bars are. It’s beside the Sagada Brew few steps down Pinikpikan Haus, same road as Kimchi and Yoghurt House.
